A song of the ascents. To David. I rejoiced when they said to me, "Let us go to the temple of the LORD." 1 A Song of Ascents. Of David. I rejoiced when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD." Our feet stood within your gates, O Jerusalem. 2 Our feet stood in your gates, O Jerusalem—built as a city that is united together. 3 Jerusalem is built as a city that is joined together. 4 For there were thrones for judgment, thrones of the house of David. 5 For there sat thrones for judgment, thrones for the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure." 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; may those who love you prosper. 7 For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, "Peace be to you." 8 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.
